Blog Overload!

Ok, so I haven't kept up the blog as well as I'd hoped I would during my last semester...so, here it all is! About 500 new posts! Sorry about the overload!

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas! We figured this is going to be one of our ONLY years for a quiet Christmas...next year, we will get Garrett plus we will have a 7 month old baby. From here on out, it's nothing but the loud, crazy Christmas. Which will be great! But we decided to embrace the calm for this one year. We didn't get out of bed until 9! Which is a great day of sleeping in for both of us! I almost woke Mike up at 5 to open presents...but, I decided to go ahead and sleep because 1) Mike is getting a cold and 2) this is the one and only year for sleeping in on Christmas Day...I won't allow it anymore. :) So...here are a couple pictures of us in all of our Christmas glory...

We didn't do a whole lot for Christmas as far as presents...because Mike got us a big ol' TV a couple of weeks ago for Christmas. Mike's parents got us some food storage. Mike got a drill and a sweater from his parents and Modern Warfare (an xbox game), a remote control helicopter, and a Big John's Bathroom Reader from me. I got a purse, a couple of watches, and some perfume from Mike's parents, and from Mike I got a George Forman little grill (woot woot!), a couple of really neat picture books about Audrey Hepburn and France, and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy! We still have the Turner Christmas Party on Monday, plus a New Years Party with my family...It's been lots of fun, with more to come! :)

Garrett's Christmas

Since we got Garrett for Thanksgiving, we didn't get him for Christmas. He actually got to go to Kentucky for Christmas with his mom to see his other grandparents. So, we had Christmas a week early with him. On the 19th we gave him our presents, plus Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and Turner came over with their presents for him. Here he is with all of his stash! What a luck boy!

And this is Garrett's present to his dad.

After Garrett opened his presents we made pizza and watched a movie with my family. My parents, Megan, Jacob, and David all came to share in Garrett's Christmas and hang out for the day. We played Apples to Apples, then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. There is a house that is completely decked out and has it's own radio station, so they correlate the lights with the Christmas music. It was fun to go see that! Then we drove down Candy Cane Lane. By then it was time for the Turner's to go home and us to clean up the house! It was a great day! :)

Anderson Christmas Party

On the 18th we had a big Christmas Party at Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house. It's always a good time over there. We had a potluck dinner, a program for anybody who wanted to participate, and a white elephant exchange. The program was really fun! We had people singing good songs, silly songs, piano players, cheerleading, and much more! The program always ends with the kids dressing up for the Nativity Story and one of the adults reading the story out loud. Below is a picture of everybody listening to the Nativity Story...Garrett is in the green blanket. This was a GREAT part of the program...Grandma Anderson and Uncle Dean playing the saw. Yup, the saw! Like the kind that cuts down trees...they play it with a violin bow. It sounds really neat! I should have video recorded it! And that's Mike on the couch in the background, with my head growing on his shoulder.

This is Mike's older brother, Doug, playing the guitar. He did a really neat version of Jingle Bells (I think...it's been long enought that I can't remember which song it was...but it was good!)
And here is Grandpa Anderson playing the harmonica for everybody! Fun times! :)

O Christmas Tree!

Here is our Christmas Tree! We were going to get a real one, we are both very adament that our tree it a real one, but Mike's mom got a fake, pre-lit tree last year on a really good sale and just gave it to us. Can't beat free! So, I made sure that we got a Christmas Tree smelling candle...a few days later, a chunk of lights right in the middle of the tree went out. Maybe that can be our excuse to get a real tree for next year! Anyway, that's our tree!

Graduation!

I am officially done with my bachelor degree! I do not have any more school! My ending GPA is a 3.05...which isn't too great, but it will get me into the Masters Program for Counseling, should I choose to do that in a few years. It is also pretty good considering how my last three semesters went. The first one, I met Mike and got engaged. The second to last semester we got married. This last semester I got pregnant (right at the beggining). And I took 18 credits for all three of those semesters. So, a B average is pretty good, considering all.
It is a little strange to be finished...I've always had school for my entire life...except when I was on my mission, and that was busy enough. :) Mike asked me what I want for Christmas and I had no idea what to tell him...because I don't have any hobbies anymore! I've been too busy with school and work to have time for hobbies! So, I told him to find me some hobbies for Christmas. :) I"m excited to be able to read any book that I want! That will be wonderful! I do have two online classes that I need to take and finish before June. I am using my Sociology degree to become a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. I've been taking the classes for the certification and I just need to finish up with these last two online classes. I test in June for the beginners level certification. After that, I just need to work as a counselor to get the hours I need to test for the official certification. So, I will be studying these next few months for those classes and for that test. But it should be cake compared to going to school full time!
Anyway, that is the update on the carreer part of my life! Definately not the most important part, but it is fun to see it progressing. :)

Shootin' em up!

Happy Thanksgiving! For Thanksgiving, we actually went to Logan to spend time with the Cheney's (my mom's side of the family). We had a super yummy meal at Craig and Rebekah's house. We were able to take Garrett with us...he played around all day with Seth and Hannah (Craig and Rebekah's kids). They ran Garrett to the ground! I've NEVER seen anybody wear Garrett out! He actually had to stop and rest a couple of times...that NEVER happens! So, it was really great! Too bad I didn't get any pictures from the dinner...but it was nice to see the Cheney's, we don't get to see them very often.
The day after Thanksgiving, we went and shot bbguns! Mike's brother, Brian and his family, were up from Utah. Their boys were out shooting, so we took Garrett and his gun. They were pretty good aims! They shot pop cans and egg cartons just behind Jean and Jerry's house, in a field.
